January 25, 2016 - Kobus Stadler has been named the new President of KnightHawk Engineering, Inc. effective January 1, 2016. Kobus has an excellent track record of success spanning over 20 years from the early days of his career to becoming Chief Process Engineer of research in a major multinational oil company, SASOL. Kobus has worked in production, engineering, and research at all levels.

Kobus has a mission to bring KnightHawk to the next level by streamlining the Specialty Engineering Group, expanding capability of the metallurgical materials lab, and growing the field service group.

All of us are excited to have Kobus on board. Cliff Knight will continue as Chief Engineer of KnightHawk while working as CEO focusing on the vision and success of the KnightHawk Companies.

2015 was an excellent year in KnightHawk's 25 year history. We have expanded the office in Clear Lake by nearly doubling its size. We look forward to 2016. KnightHawk's accredited Lab has grown with the word getting out.

Our team is ready to help you team.

January 20, 2015 - In our effort to continue to provide the best quality materials testing services, KnightHawk Engineering Materials Lab (KML) successfully obtained accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard late last year. Accreditation to this International Standard indicates KML operates under a management system for quality, administrative and technical operations that also meets the principles of ISO 9001, with demonstrated competency in several ASTM test methods.

Our accredited scope of testing includes Hardness (Rockwell B and C, Vickers Micro and Macro Hardness), tensile testing, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, Corrosion rates and micro-etching). While these accredited test methods represent a major component of the testing we conduct, KML also specializes in development and execution of customized testing to satisfy client specific needs. We have experience in developing and conducting tests that range from long term high pressure and high temperature corrosion testing of screen reactor materials, creep testing of clad wiring, torsion testing of large equipment bolts, to tests designed to simulate operating loads and conditions experienced by components.

KML has experienced technicians and Ph.D. level engineers that can also assist you in determining deformation and fracture mechanisms and modes of failure of components, equipment and systems made of metallic, polymeric and other industrial materials. Whether it is a standard test, a highly customized test, or determination of the failure mechanisms/modes, KML can help you with your testing needs in a timely fashion.

June 02, 2014 - Knighthawk performed an extensive two phase flow analysis of a large bore piping system in a petrochemical facility. The problem was they were having remarkable vibration causing damage. The issue was, the problem needed to be fixed the first time during a planned shutdown. Our CFD engineers analyzed the problem and came up with a low cost unique solution that could be easily installed during a planned shutdown. It worked and the client is "Happy, Happy, Happy".

May 05, 2014 - KnightHawk & Mechanical Testing Services would like to announce an Engineering and Testing Alliance, formed between the two companies. Read more

March 12, 2014 - KnightHawk launches its new Product Design Group. The mission of the group is to handle a whole host of challenges from designing advanced concept products to basic heavy industry products and equipment. KnightHawk has the most advanced CAD tools with the right leadership. Read more

February 27, 2014 - KHE's static equipment group has been contracted to conduct a FFS analysis of a vessel and associated piping to determine if the equipment can run safely to a planned outage. To accomplish this our group has performed metallurgical analysis, field services to take measurements, and finally a Level 3 FFS study of the vessel. We are a one stop shop when it comes to these problems.

February 11, 2014 - Knighthawk is awarded a propylene compressor job in Tobolsk, Russia. A newly constructed plant is being delayed from starting up, due to high vibration problems with this process critical compressor. KnightHawk Engineers have been mobilized to the plant in Central Russia for consultation to assist with troubleshooting the problem. KHE's staff in Houston is assisting with analysis and Research.

January 24, 2014 - Our field services group just got back from a field analysis of transient pressure/momentum effects in a waste heat boiler. The group instrumented a boiler an tied it into a high speed data acquisition system. They measured dynamic pressure, acoustics, and vibration simultaneously to characterize the forcing function causing the boiler to fail. The measurements were in a high temperature environment.

January 09, 2014 - Our lab has worked through detailed analysis of a boiler tube failure. With the help of our Specialty Engineering group the root cause was able to be determined. A process analysis was performed to help explain the local stat of fluid conditions to understand why the fracture surface had corrosion and erosion indications. Once again the multiphysics approach got to the bottom of the problem.

December 17, 2013 - Our Specialty Engineering group has been awarded a research and development project to validate a new fastener technology.

December 06, 2013 - Our Specialty Engineering group has been awarded and completed Level 3 FFS work involving creep effects and plasticity. Our team consisting of high level engineers, have characterized and developed solutions to help our clients run safely.
